Here at MenswearStyle we’re taking a look at some of the worlds biggest and most fashionable cities, bringing you a roundup of our favourite stores that you should be checking out when you make your visit. This time round we’re turning our sights to one of the fashion capitals of the world and the city that we are proud to call home, London. It’s a city we know so well and we can’t wait to introduce you to some of its finest shops.

Palace 

While streetwear might not be to everyone’s taste Palace is definitely well deserving of a spot on our list. Having opened it’s doors all the way back in 2010, Palace has gone on to quickly establish itself as on of the worlds leading and most hyped streetwear brands, often being labelled as the UK’s answer to Supreme. People will queue around the block for hours waiting for the latest drop so make sure to get down there early on drop day if you want to bag yourself some heat.

YMC 

Founded in London in 1995, YMC have spent over 20 years developing their unique signature look. The brand pride themselves on not being influenced by seasonal trends and the idea behind their design process is to rework classic silhouettes, giving them a modern twist to create pieces which are both contemporary and timeless. There are two stores in the English capital so you really have no excuse not to pop in.

Dover Street Market 

The brainchild of Comme Des Garcons' head honcho, Rei Kawakubo and husband Ardian Joffe, Dover Street Market is a colossal concept store, spread over 5 stunning floors and situated in a new premises right in the heart of London. DSM bridges the gap between shop and art gallery and if you’re planning a first time visit then you’d be well advised to set aside at least an hour to take it all in. Clothes from some of the worlds leading designers are beautifully arranged and surrounded by breathtaking art installations and once you’ve finished shopping you can head upstairs for a drink and something to eat in the Rose Bakery. Make sure you check out the Sneaker Space in the basement for some of the most sought-after trainers around.

Goodhood 

Goodhood is a well-known name in London and has a reputation for bringing the best of the best to its discerning east end clientele. The store itself boasts a log cabin, exhibition spaces and even a café. Expect to find designs from the likes of Junya Watanabe, Alexander Wang, Gosha Rubchinskiy and many many more.

The Army Gym 

Nigel Cabourn has achieved legendary status in menswear and is known world wide for his loose cuts, military-inspired designs and inventive use of carefully sourced premium materials. His store, The Army Gym, in Covent Garden is a great place to check out and pick up his latest designs and the store itself really is stunning visually. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the area.

LN-CC 

LN-CC, or Late Night Chameleon Café is a high-end store carrying one-of-a-kind pieces from some of the worlds most highly regarded fashion designers, rare vinyl records, books and even features a club space and gallery. It’s not exactly straightforward to gain entry though; most of the time visits are only available by arranging an appointment in advance. However, if you’re lucky and demand is low on the day you choose to visit then you may be able to get in by ringing the door buzzer. Once inside you find clothing from names such as Raf Simons, Gucci, Rick Owens, Acne, Saint Laurent, Marni and that really is just the tip of the iceberg!
