TREND-LED EVERYDAY WEARABLE MENSWEAR

Percival Spring/Summer 2015

Pericval is a clothing store which began back in 2010 through a series of pop up stores, they then opened their doors to their own store in Central London from their studio in East London. Their designs are for everyday wear for both the younger and more mature man. They have a philosophy that all their clothing is of a high quality using subtle innovative designs that create an illusion of trend-led wearable styles.

Percival's workmanship is the result of local production in the UK using British textiles as well as materials sources from around the world - which they're proud of.

With a fresh and clean feel to their designs, their latest range is bright and light for this spring and summer 2015 season. Their fabrics and shirting are that of Japanese finesse and of polygon and silicate rock (so the clothing is uniquely mineral based), hence the name behind the range... The Mineral Room. Percival have taken inspiration from random structures of crystals, with some designs being more eccentric and detailed. However, they're toned down when contrasted with the classic waterproof Sherlock jacket or Waxed Mac - both of which are proudly made in England.

For their outerwear range, this season they have two styles of jackets available. The Fishing Mac and the Coach Jacket, which are lightweight for the warmer weather, but as the weather isn’t always so predictable in England they are both water proof to be on the safe side. Added details include a bright coloured binding in contrast to the neutral hues. Shirting includes classic oxford shirts in neutral shades, as well as more elaborate styles such as mustard short sleeved silicate and Japanese inspired patterns to brighten up their crew neck jumpers and jackets.

Their trousers and shorts are slim fitting and tailored with flush fastenings so you don’t always need to wear them with a belt, giving them an overall clean and tidy finish. Shades of blue and stone play a large part in the colourways as well as the added camo pattern. Lastly, the jersey collection features a range of knit pyrite and jacquard in a brush cotton with a t-shirt pattern. The inspiration behind this was taken from sediment of rock formations. This adds texture to the outfit without having to layer or wear uncomfortable heavy fabrics.
