OCTOBER 2022’S BEST MEN’S GROOMING DROPS
Written by Nick Hogan in Grooming on the 25th October 2022
Do you know the best thing about Autumn? That it’s overshirt season! My compulsion to buy and wear overshirts really comes into its own in October, and I'm making the most of it. Not to mention the full transition to an Autumn fragrance line-up. Summer is nice and all, but Autumn is definitely my favourite season. Here are my picks of the best in grooming, to get you through autumn and prepped for winter!
Patricks
Packaging isn’t the be-all and end-all when it comes to a product, however when it’s done well, it elevates, it’s the finishing touch. Australian brand Patricks has grown in popularity in recent years, well renowned for their hair and skincare. My picks of the line are their SL1 Superleggera Moisturizer that's lightweight and features hyaluronic acid, peptides and niacinamide, and ES1 Eye Serum which heals and restores the delicate under-eye skin. Not only are Patricks products fantastic, but just look at that packaging!

Aesop Eidesis
Aesop are best known for their incredible range of skin, hair and body care. The latest addition to their growing fragrance line is Eidesis, inspired by the myth of Narcissus. Eidesis accompanied me on a recent weekend away in Norfolk, proving to be the perfect choice for mild east coast weather. As I strolled through a coastal wood, I enjoyed wafts of sandalwood, cedar and pepper, a cosy experience that felt in its natural environment. Add this one to your Autumn rotation!
Available from Aesop - £140 for 50ml >
Dense
Hair loss is often the elephant in the room for us guys, many of us are suffering, not doing much about it, and certainly not discussing it with anyone. This needn’t be the case, as Dense offers a 2 min online consultation that will result in a personalised plan of products to aid you in regaining and thickening your hair. Products include topical sprays, shampoo/conditioner, styling products and even a daily vitamin. I’m on a personal journey to maintain my hair, wish me luck!
Cellmen
Cellmen are a Swiss brand that produces high-tech and high-performance skincare for men. Rooted in science and featuring targeted ingredients, Cellmen takes looking after your skin seriously. My picks of the line are Face Ultra, an incredible day & night cream. CellSplash, an alcohol-free toner that will really kick start your day, and CellUltra Eye Serum-XT, which works wonders in reducing my ever-increasing dark circles. Cellmen is for the gent who wants to give his skin a luxury treat!

Laboratorio Olfattivo Limone
I’ve spoken previously on the power of scent to transport you to places far and wide, and also the uncanny ability to recall memories. The location is Italy, and the memory is enjoying lemon sherbet as a child. Created by master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, Limone is part of his Viaggio in Italia line, which also includes Mandarino, Bergamotto and Arancia Rossa. However, my pick is Limone, the instant hit of lemon sherbet is a reminder of sunnier days and happy memories, and definitely, one to get your nose on.

Stories & Ink
Friends Simon and Stu created Stories & Ink to fill an unmet gap in the grooming market, a range of skincare products specifically developed for people with tattoos. Well-nourished skin aids in keeping tattoos defined and vibrant, seems like a no-brainer, right? The Originals Pack features their Daily Moisturiser which includes UVA/UVB filters, Highlighting Body Oil which can be sprayed on to moisturise and brighten instantly, and then finally Vibrancy Serum, which aids in restoring tired-looking tattoos. It’s time for your tattoos to get their swagger back!
Available from Stories & Ink - £35 >
Nest New York Wilderness
Wilderness is the latest scent from Nest New York and offers the perfect choice for transitioning through autumn and into the winter months. Wilderness evokes the scent of a mysterious forest, featuring notes of patchouli, labdanum, cedarwood, charred birchwood and black truffle. Wilderness is dark, enveloping, warm and cosy, my current go-to choice when I batten down the hatches on a wet and windy evening. Wilderness is available as both a candle and reed diffuser, whichever you prefer, or perhaps both?
