DISCOVER SEPTEMBER 2021’S COOLEST STUFF
THE MOST STYLISH PRODUCTS AND RELEASES THIS MONTH
Written by Craig Landale in Essentials on the 28th September 2021
Welcome to autumn readers! Admittedly this is my favourite season for menswear. There’s so many beautiful fabrics, colours, and not to mention the enjoyment of trying to master the art of layering. I’ll gladly swap a pair of sliders for boots and a t-shirt for a wool overcoat. With this in mind, I’m embracing autumn with my arms wide open and this month I’ve found some great autumn/winter 2021 drops that I think you’ll like, too.
Huntsman AW21 Collection
The iconic Savile Row tailor, Huntsman, have unveiled their new AW21 collection. Luxury and versatility define this capsule collection of tailored separates and suiting, with an emphasis on technical fabrics and sustainable practises within menswear, to create a capsule wardrobe of timeless classics that combine performance and comfort with impeccable style. Cut, cloth and construction remain the ethos and this collection focuses on embracing a post-pandemic world, with garments that are elegant and luxurious and designed to be seen out. This season, heritage tweed features alongside classic herringbone sport coats, and rich, sumptuous textures in corduroy trousers, cashmerillo shirts and merino knitwear. New styles of outerwear combine practicality and luxury with high-performance fabrics cut in classic silhouettes. Suiting and jackets support sustainable practice, and are ideal for international business travel. Huntsman Creative Director Campbell Carey took inspiration from Huntsman’s popular raglan sleeve overcoat and classic mac and combined them with his own favourite vintage trench coat. The result, a striking blackwatch tartan raglan sleeve mac, made in the original and finest British Millerain waxed cotton, ensuring it is shower-proof, breathable and comfortable.
Paria Cycling Clothing
Fusing bold, artistic design with inspirations from the world of fashion, street style and irreverent popular culture is Paria. The brand creates something totally new for cyclists, offering on and off-bike pieces for men and women that deliver technical ability, alongside more casual, everyday items. The result is a unique and colourful collection that takes the passion from the cult of cycling, and turns it into a design-led, stylish range. Renowned for its off-the-wall jersey designs, Paria has carved its own path in the cycling world as a popular alternative to mass-market brands. By collaborating with like-minded independent businesses, including coffee shops, breweries, and legendary local gig-venues, the brand’s ethos promotes a friendly and inclusive attitude to cycling and a bold approach to design – a winning combination that has now grown an international following across Australia, Germany and Japan.

Beddable Loungewear
Beddable began with the mission to make choosing the perfect quality bedding simple. Bedding sets are made with quality fabric in 100% washed cotton, cotton percale and cotton sateen, with a clean aesthetic fit for modern living. Beddable believes a good night's sleep is in the hands of quality fabric. The brand has since expanded the range into towels, hammam towels and robes. This month they launched loungewear and PJ's. They have worked with Sens Essentials to create a bamboo cotton collection. The products will be sold individually as well as offered in sets to make a quick and easy purchase at a saving. With comfort as a priority, the collection has been designed in the softest and most breathable fabric in a selection of cosy styles - all can be mixed and matched for a different day-to-day look.
Cheaney AW21 Collection
The Cheaney AW21 collection features timeless styles that have been re-imagined to have a more rugged edge. Encapsulating the joy of embracing outdoor adventuring, styles feature robust cleated and stacked rubber soles for durability, military-inspired combat boots with ski-hook fastenings for comfort and muted earth-tones for wearability. Practical adaptations, such as hefty double Dainite, treaded Vi-Lite rubber and water-resistant Commando soles, alongside textured and grained leather finishes dominate the collection. The men’s collections pull inspiration from the archives, specifically from Cheaney’s celebratory 142 Aviator Collection which paid homage to military boots inspired by aviation. Characteristically unique Kudu leather, renowned for its strength and distinctively vintage appearance, was incorporated alongside traditional smooth and grained leather options to give a varied offering of textures and finishes. All styles have the ability to be fully restored after considerable wear using the brand's refurbishment service, making them a truly sustainable option for those looking to invest in their footwear.
TRIWA x Sea Shepherd
Swedish brand TRIWA have launched an exclusive watch in collaboration with one of the world’s most prolific ocean conservation organisations, Sea Shepherd. The watch is made from recycled ocean plastic as a statement on our oceans’ health and as a way of further funding Sea Shepherd’s mission. In 2020, TRIWA launched the first collection of watches made completely from recycled ocean plastics. The collection, called Time for Oceans, was developed together with Tide Ocean Material as a way of making use of ocean debris. Since then, TRIWA has been looking for the right NGO to create a statement watch with and to further fund direct oceans conservation actions. After a year of preparations, they've launched Time for Action with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The watch is made completely from recycled ocean plastic and features Sea Shepherd’s signature logo printed on both the dial and the backplate of the watch.
Lavair AW21 Drops
Lavair was founded by three London creatives who after a decade and a half of producing trainers for key players in the industry, pooled their knowledge to create their own perfect trainer. The brand new Solus style is constructed with a Tumble Leather upper and new cup sole. The shoe is designed to be sleek and simple, a soon to be staple Lavair silhouette. The Creator EVO is a lightweight take on the brand's most popular sneaker. Combining elements from both the Creator and the EXO make this style the ultimate evolution in luxury sneakers. The Pacific is given a make-over by replacing the all-over leather upper with a more breathable mesh and nappa combination. The upper is saddled with a TPU double eyestay which has a hi-gloss finish around the edging and gives extra support to the wearer. This season sees 3 new colourways; Navy/Grey, White/Grey and Black/Red. Finally, the Creator is back also with 3 new colourways; Navy, Tonal Grey and White/Navy/Grey.
Farah AW21 Collection
New York in the 1970s had become the forgotten city. On its knees; corrupt and awash with poverty and drugs, it set the scene for the most prolific counter-cultures that have shaped the arts and music world. While in Downtown Manhattan, Punk was being created; Midtown saw Studio 54 and the decadence of everything disco, thriving. However, it’s in the North of New York that Farah’s history is entwined with a subculture and movement that would eventually reshape contemporary music as we know it today. Making something out of nothing - old turntables being rigged up together, disused record collections being trawled through, taking disco and funk, extracting breakbeats and layering in rhythm - artists used the streets as their stage and the city as their canvas.
Drift Sleepwear
Drift Sleepwear is a UK based sleepwear brand that challenge the bland bedroom uniform, creating men’s pyjamas that push you to embrace your individuality where it matters most - at home. The brand's designs call upon inspiration from faraway places and cultures. The thing that brings us all together is that we each have remarkably different backgrounds and stories. Drift Sleepwear recently launched two new prints, one is called ‘Midsummer Bloom’. The hand painted print is a nod to the Swedish day of festivities celebrating the peak of Summer and is packed full of flowers and foliage gathered fresh from the fields. Drift Sleepwear’s pyjamas is produced in small quantities with quality and comfort top of mind. The relaxed fit lightweight cotton pyjama bottoms have added space in the crotch to support movement, making them a dream to wear night and day.
