With the Covid-19 pandemic having interfered with a lot of different plans for a summer holiday, more and more people are turning to UK city breaks over more tropical climates. While for some a UK break may mean heading to the capital or exploring the rural views and sandy beaches of South West England, there's actually a lot to see further North in England's North West region. Walk Along Crosby Beach

The North West boasts a number of great beaches, and Crosby’s offering is a beach that can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Based in Merseyside, Crosby is a small town that’s reachable from Liverpool city centre in less than 30 minutes. The beach in Crosby is famous mainly for its art installation, Another Place by Antony Gormley, which sees sculptures of iron men staring out at sea. Crosby beach makes for an excellent walk, allowing visitors to end their hike at Formby, where you'll find another of Merseyside's striking beaches.

Admire Liverpool’s Architecture

One way to enjoy Liverpool’s many buildings is to walk to the top of the Anglican Cathedral or take a ferry ride across the River Mersey to admire the skyline in all its glory. Head to Delamere Forest

Located in Cheshire, Delamere Forest is a beautiful outdoor space that’s not to be missed if you’re visiting the North West.
