PREMIUM RUNNING BRANDS YOU’VE (PROBABLY) NOT HEARD OF
Written by Menswear Style in Health & Fitness on the 21st May 2020
Look out of the window chaps. Everyone is running on the streets these days. Yes, the current pandemic lockdown rules are a state of play, but once people get a taste for their newfound love of running, we’re sure the new routine will stick for years to come. Whether you’re a keen Strava member who enjoys the community and challenge, or you simply enjoy a jog to clear the mind for your mental health, running is a great lifestyle choice that you should stick to. With that in mind we’ve researched some of the most premium and independent running brands on the market today.
Ciele
After the founders had worked for other brands, with other people and on other projects, they one day decided to make Ciele Athletics happen the way they wanted to. The way they needed to. Everything fell in to place from then on.
Doxa
Doxa is developed by runners and is designed in Denmark. Conceived in the ever-changing Scandinavian climate, their products are adapted to all situations, setting new standards for merging high end fashion with technical running apparel into an urban, functional design.
Fractel
Founded by Matt Niutta, Fractel has begun to create a community of like-minded followers and advocates around the world who share a passion for running and adventure. Matt has always been a passionate runner, and it wasn’t until he was diagnosed with an eye condition that prevented him from driving did he realise the real benefit of being outdoors and commuting by foot.
Iffley Road
You guessed it; the name comes from the Oxford track where Roger Bannister ran the first sub four-minute mile in 1954. The Founders are a husband and wife team who’ve both been keen runners since childhood. In fact, they met through running.
Janji
As a running apparel company, Janji choose their materials purposefully and are continually looking for ways to optimize the performance, durability, and sustainability of the gear they make. Water is a vital part of everyday life and a necessary component to taking the first step on any run. It's their promise to expand access to safe drinking water in the places they run around the world - hence the name, which means “promise" in Malay.
Saysky
Saysky was established in Copenhagen, with a mission to create premium performance sportswear with an urban and casual attitude. They’re athletes at heart and in life. Their style is Scandinavian, metropolitan, minimalistic, and they have a penchant for urban colours.
Soar
Soar was born from an admiration for real runners and frustration that the running community’s commitment to performance was being poorly served by the major sports brands. With a professional background in fashion, Tim Soar knew he could create runners' garments that outperformed everything on the market, utilising the world’s most advanced fabrics, and designed for real-world amateurs training in all conditions.
