Discover August 2019’s Coolest Stuff

I think I’ll start this by apologising for having my eye on autumn/winter collections when we’re in the middle or summer. But that’s how the fashion world works and a little preparation never hurt anybody right? We have some stonkingly good drops to look forward to from the likes of Kestin Hare, Shackelton and TUMI. So, following on from my July roundup, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite products and releases for the month of August 2019 – enjoy.

TUMI Autumn/Winter 2019 Collection

The autumn 2019 season from TUMI celebrates the idea of enlightenment, of finding inspiration in true understanding, knowledge and insight. The brand is constantly striving to pursue a deeper understanding of how their customers live and how they travel and incorporate this higher learning and knowledge into the product and brand vision. The brand’s goal is to provide customers with freedom — from worry, frustration, and distraction — so they can relax and experience their journeys fully. It’s this dedication that pushes TUMI forward this season with refreshed and updated collections that will meet the needs of an ever-evolving world.

Allbirds Launches Socks Range

Allbirds are known for their footwear and even though they’ve engineered their shoes to be so soft you can go sockless, nearly 50% of their fans choose to wear socks with their Allbirds. So, the brand wanted to make sure they could experience their natural materials through-and-through. This is where a new range of socks comes into play; the Hiders, Quarters, and Tubers are made from Trino, a new home-grown yarn that bakes together the benefits of silky Tree material with cosy Merino.

adidas Originals Launches New OZWEEGO

This season, adidas Originals introduces the OZWEEGO silhouette for today. Combining the iconic 90s-style runner silhouette with futuristic design and colours, adidas Originals' new interpretation of the heritage OZWEEGO sneaker is re-worked for today’s generation. Released in a multitude of iterations throughout the 1990s, the OZWEEGO models pushed hyper-futuristic footwear design to its furthest reaches. In this contemporary reimagining of the OZWEEGO silhouette, adidas looked to the OZWEEGO 3 sneaker of 1998 - a running shoe that was embraced by street culture. With a distinctive eye stay panel, defined midsole lines, and translucent support tube, today’s model offers a modern expression of the original design language and ethos of the OZWEEGO 3 sneaker.

Jura Time and Jura Tide Unveiled

As the saying goes, time and tide waits for no man, a fact particularly pertinent when considering the remote wilderness and location of the Isle of Jura. Jura have captured this inspiration to create Jura Time and Jura Tide – two single malts, each aged for 21 Years, telling the story of their tiny island home. Beginning with a reflection of time, Jura Time 21 Years Old claims its power, from losing track of time in the vast wilderness of the island to the whisky in their casks as they mature over time, this is a whisky embracing time fully. With a character reminiscent of driftwood embers on the shores of Jura due to time spent in ex-peated malt casks, Jura Time offers an enticing sensory journey.

Harry’s x Tom Dixon London Design Festival

For its London Design Festival debut, men’s care brand Harry’s is working with Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio to create the Razor Bar, an experiential activation that celebrates the sensory tactility of shaving, bringing the company’s ethos to life in a unique way. Part showroom, part barbershop and part assembly station, the Razor Bar will communicate Harry’s focus on design and innovation to an international audience. Paying homage to men’s care in every way, the space looks more like a cathedral than a traditional salon, with vaulted ceilings and a reverential atmosphere. Inspired by the rituals that we all engage in around self-care, the monastic aesthetic translates these special moments we take for ourselves into a physical space. The brand will also be showcasing unique grooming objects designed in collaboration with Tom Dixon. This one of a kind five-piece set has an integrated stand which holds the badger brush, mirror and razor. Playing off Harry’s own unique handles, the razors will be displayed atop pillars that line the assembly table.
