DISCOVER JULY 2019’S COOLEST STUFF
THE MOST STYLISH PRODUCTS AND RELEASES THIS MONTH
Written by Craig Landale in Essentials on the 29th July 2019
Yeah, yeah the weather is bonkers at the moment in London. But I’ve actually swapped the 39 degrees for Ireland’s North West Donegal for a few weeks. It’s not so hot here but it surely is beautiful. But whilst on my little retreat I’ve certainly not dropped the ball when it comes to coolest drops. We have a footy kit inspired by Mod culture, Scandinavian-inspired slippers and zero alcohol beer among others. So, following on from my June roundup, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite products and releases for the month of July 2019 – enjoy.
Cole Haan Autumn/Winter 2019 Collection
Cole Haan is turning nearly a century of iconic footwear inside out, and the Autumn 2019 collection is no exception. Waterproof and water-resistant uppers are the key features of this season. Additionally, this season calls for updates to the Men’s ZERØGRAND Oxfords and GrandPrø Sneakers -- timeless Cole Haan styles, with detailed craftsmanship. Other exciting news includes the GENERATION ZERØGRAND due to be released mid September; it's a sneaker designed for younger professionals to empower them to express their individually and leave a footprint in the world.
A Day’s March The Daily Runner
This limited edition Daily Runner is A Day’s March’s version of a running shoe, inspired by classic sneaker styles that became popular during the 1980s. Made in a state-of-the-art sneaker factory in Portugal, the Daily Runner features luxurious fabrics like Italian velour suede and Spanish nylon, combined with a chunky Italian sole in a durable rubber exterior. The Daily Runner comes in two colourways: Olive and Off-white - in a limited stock of 200 pairs per colour.
Chelsea Unveils Mod-Inspired Away Kit for 2019/20
Chelsea Football Club celebrates London’s fashion history each time they play away this season. The new away kit is inspired by the Mod culture that thrived on the King’s Road, a short walk from Stamford Bridge, in the 1960s. The kit takes its lead from Mod subculture through a crisp white polo jersey complete with a button-down collar. This collar is trimmed with red and blue stripes and is fastened in the centre by two buttons, each inscribed with the phrase: ‘The Pride of London.’ The socks boast a stripe – white, red, white – midway up the calf, which evokes memories of the famous Mod target symbol.
mahabis Flow Slippers
Premium lifestyle brand, mahabis, famed for its award-winning slippers, has launched a new product, the mahabis flow - a lightweight, flexible, versatile slipper you’ll be happy to wear anywhere this summer. These minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired slippers have a light, 3D woven upper that gives you the freedom to move, meaning you get all the comfort of mahabis - without the weight. While the mahabis flow release has a light, fresh design, it still embraces a few of mahabis’ signature features; an adaptable foam insole that contours to your foot, the iconic neoprene heel for an ergonomic fit, and the durable, indoor/outdoor sole.
Rapport Hyde Park Watch Case
In 1898 an energetic young man aged 20 produced his first timepiece. So well was it received that the business of M. A. Rapport & Co was born. Maurice A. Rapport could have had no idea that the business that he had founded would become a household name in clockmaking and horology throughout the world and that the clocks produced by the company would find themselves gracing fine homes in all four corners of the globe. The Hyde Park Watch Case is a robust zip case handmade from premium leather with finely stitched seams. Featuring a luxurious suede lining and removable soft cushions in separate compartments, this beautiful piece securely protects up to two watches.
Lowlander Launches Zesty, Zero Alcohol Beer
Whether you’re a designated driver, pregnant or just dialling down your alcohol intake, Netherlands botanical brewery, Lowlander Beer has you covered with its first no-alcohol beer. Brewed with reclaimed citrus peel, from bars and restaurants who use the fruit to squeeze fresh orange and lemon juice, Lowlander 0.00% Wit (White) Beer, unlike other non-alcoholic beer options, is bursting with fruity, citrus flavours. Every year 250 million kilos of orange peel are discarded in The Netherlands. By working with PeelPioneers, who pick up and process this ‘waste’ in a circular, eco-friendly way, Lowlander are not only able to make sure each beer has the same zing and bitterness that alcohol usually provides but are also helping to reduce environmental footprint.
Vans Reissues Iconic Heritage Prints through Anaheim Factory Collection
Paying homage to the brands 'Off The Wall' design history, the Anaheim Factory Collection by Vans showcases design elements attributed to the original make and models that were once produced in Anaheim, California and reissues them for today with OrthoLite sock liners. Each model includes original style numbers, higher-glossed foxing tape, cotton laces and original drill lining weight to complete the retro inspired look.
