The retailer Urban Outfitters and London-based fashion designer Liam Hodges have teamed up to celebrate the colourful culture of football seen over the past few decades. The average Sunday league footy player and the gang of kids using their jackets for goal posts are now given the spotlight. With this new UO collaboration, Mr Hodges reminiscences the roots of the sport and decodes sporting classics with new sustainable interpretations.

This exciting new collaboration shows a unique combination of unconventional cuts and sport influenced tailoring. There is a strong focus on graphics and composite fabrics of old jerseys, jeans and jogging shorts which Liam skilfully interprets the spirit of the game witnessed over the past few decades to the present day.

Classic vintage football gear is sustainably reworked and recycled to create multicoloured track pants, t-shirts with composite stripes and sweaters with the print ‘Your Club Here’; giving those unwanted threads a new purpose. The signature, as well as the patchwork style synonymous with Liam Hodges, stands for the mix of different cultures and a rebellious attitude dedicated to the youthful attitude of life. He pays homage to those of all ages who contribute to - particularly the Sunday League - the unique culture football celebrates today.

Some standout pieces include the reworked denim and nylon jacket made from upcycled vintage pieces topped with a crest motif and text print to the reverse, and the French work jacket cut in a longline silhouette featuring partial denim construction and finished with a tie-waist closure.
