DISCOVER MARCH 2018’S COOLEST STUFF
THE MOST STYLISH PRODUCTS AND RELEASES THIS MONTH
Written by Craig Landale in Essentials on the 20th March 2018
Just when we thought spring had arrived, the elements bring us a shed load of snow. It’s pretty fresh out there to say the least. But don’t give up on the sunshine just yet, it’s going to arrive any time now. Whilst being locked up inside my house and drinking whisky in front of the log fire, bravely surviving the second instalment of Beast From The East, I’ve come across some pretty slick product releases. We have a new male grooming range from David Beckham and a new stylish cycling apparel label set to launch on a crowdfunding platform, among others. So, following on from our February round-up, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite products and releases for the month of March 2018 – enjoy.
Vans Anaheim Factory Collection
Vans’ Anaheim Factory Collection pays homage to the brand’s over 50-year history of footwear by reintroducing iconic silhouettes that celebrate unique design details informed by the original Vans make and model. For the third instalment of the Anaheim Factory Collection, Vans re-issues heritage styles to the Classics footwear range including the Slip-On 47 DX and Mid Skool 37 DX. Each design includes the original style number and is trademarked by a vintage-inspired colour palette.
Master & Dynamic x Leica Camera
New York City-based premium audio company Master & Dynamic have launched the second chapter of its partnership with like-minded premium camera company Leica Camera and their high-end accessories brand 0.95. Less than a year after the two icons fused their common values in creating the ‘Master & Dynamic for 0.95’ signature collection, the collaboration’s Silver Edition has arrived and is inspired by the design of the world’s fastest aperture aspherical lens, the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH.
Launch of Meander Apparel
Premium lifestyle and performance brand Meander Apparel is set to breathe new life into the cycling fashion market this spring. Scottish-based Meander will enter the cycling sector with a vision to provide cyclists and outdoor lovers a new take on lifestyle clothing. Its launch product – a multi-functional commuter jacket – will be available exclusively via Indiegogo this April, offering premium at an affordable price, without the luxury retailer mark-up.
Douchebags
The brand name was coined when the Founder Olsson asked his blog followers for input on the name of his soon-to-be-launched bag company. The people spoke, and Douchebags was the fan favourite. Olsson liked the humour and - not one to worry about the naysayers - knew the brand would stand out. The new Hugger Collection provides ultimate comfort and convenient access to contents. The 30L and 60L backpacks are simple and smart, designed to make travelling easier for you and your gear.
Nivea Men Body Shaving Range
This new range from Nivea Men is compact and easy to use in the shower, as well as efficient and fast, protecting your body from any irritation. Unlike traditional shaving gels, the formula is designed for use in the shower, meaning it won’t wash off mid shave too. The transparent formula provides the ultimate precision shave without catching or irritating skin, and it is the perfect size for hand luggage or your gym bag, allowing you to look and feel your best wherever you are.
Huf Spring 2018 Footwear
Continuing to innovate upon contemporary skate lifestyle footwear, HUF refreshes iconic silhouettes by introducing seasonal-appropriate materials, colourways, and technologies. Signature pro-models are offered in an Atlantic-blue pig suede Cromer and a pink pig nubuck version of the Dylan Slip On, while the ever-popular Classic Lo and Hi return in vibrant yellow and ivory hairy suedes, respectively. The Hupper 2 Lo remains a fundamental style of the brand, available in a highly anticipated hibiscus suede for the season, while maintaining HUF’s trademark Infinity Rubber, 3D Foxing Tape, and Perfshock technologies.
Accurist 2018 Watches
Proudly British with a long tradition of distinctive style, Accurist has long been at the forefront of horological fashion and was the creator of some of Britain’s most memorable marketing campaigns. With an unrivalled watch collection, featuring strong design codes that remain succinctly Accurist, this is a brand which has amalgamated minimalist modernity with traditional British sensibility. It’s must wear timepieces add a new fashion dimension to any watch wardrobe.
House 99 by David Beckham
In 2018 the man who has always styled it his own way creates his own grooming brand. In the spirit of open experimentation, the art of grooming by David Beckham meets the heritage of barbershop techniques. The man with one of the most recognisable faces on the planet grew up playing with his image. Whether down to his upbringing by his trained hairdresser mum, or his ambition to be different from the rest, David Beckham started out as a London-born footballer who made it normal to change your look, and in doing so played a role in redefining male culture, not just in the UK but across the world. House 99 merges barbershop culture with skin and haircare creativity to create an all-new grooming brand, home to every guy’s next look.
