Discover May 2017’s Coolest Stuff

Tired of waiting for summer to arrive? Yes, we’re too. But we’ve been doing a bit of window shopping and picked out some cool new product releases which has raised our spirits slightly. We’ve found a small Bluetooth speaker that packs a big punch and sunglasses made in Cornwall from recycled denim. So, following on from our April round-up, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite products and releases for the month of May.

Grey Goose Limited Edition Riviera Bottle

Grey Goose has unveiled a limited-edition version of its iconic bottle in time for summer, exclusively in partnership with Harvey Nichols this month. The Limited Edition Rivieria bottle celebrates the brand’s French heritage and has been designed to transport your senses to the sparkling blue waters and sunny climes of the French Côte d'Azur. The new design features classic marinière stripes, inspired by the bathing beauties of the Nouvelle Vague, and visible brush strokes reminiscent of France’s Impressionist Movement.

Bulldog Defence Against The Dark Masks

Masks are having a moment. First P Diddy shares his facial selfie, then Christiano Ronaldo rocks a sheet mask on Instagram and even James Franco got on the mask wagon. It’s time to man up, slap on a mask and refresh your face, and not just because it’s a trend, but because it’ll leave your skin feeling fresh and looking great. Men’s skin tends to be oilier than women’s so Bulldog Skincare For Men’s Oil Control Face Mask (£6.00 100ml) is just what you need to give your skin a kick. It contains witch hazel, willow bark and juniper as well as a blend of natural clays.

Tumi x Orlebar Brown

This summer, TUMI and Orlebar Brown, the British luxury swimwear brand known for its modern, tailored swim shorts and photographic prints, collaborate for the first time to bring innovative and playful weekend totes to their consumers worldwide. Combining Orlebar Brown’s distinct style with TUMI’s reputation for high quality and performance lifestyle collections, the outcome displays contemporary travel at its best. Drawing constant inspiration from Slim Aarons' iconic pictures of Riviera and Palm Beach life during the decade, they have reinterpreted the 1960s poolside utopia into an aptly energetic weekend travel assortment.

Mosevic Sunglasses

Mosevic are a start up from Cornwall, a remote and scenic part of the UK. They’re offering shades that are designed to stand out from the big brands. These sunglasses are hand made from recycled denim, providing a striking alternative to anything on the high street. Taking six years of design development and finesse, the small creative team handcraft their unique frames in-house and in small batches. These sunglasses differ from the industry standard, using denim to not just dress the product, but as its crucial component. Layers of the iconic fabric are set in resin creating a solid material that retains its timeless visual and textural appeal whilst behaving more like a strong plastic.

DriveNow Car Club

We've been testing out this London-based car club throughout the month. Their BMWs and MINIs are available on demand 24/7 and there’s no need to book ahead. We've worked out that it's cheaper than ordering an Uber too. At the end of your journey, you simply leave the car for free in virtually any public on-street parking bay within North East London. Our favourite vehicle was the all-electric BMW i3 which we used for a journey into London's zone 1 to avoid paying the cities Congestion Charge. You can drive by the minute (0.33p), by the hour (£25 for 3 hours) or by the day (£80) - a thumbs up from us.

Native Youth x Neverland Boys

The look and feel of Native Youth’s SS17 Menswear collection focuses on structured denims, light linen mixes and buttery soft real suedes. The immersive hand feel fabrications are broken up into warm earthy tones and true-to-brand indigo washes with pops of colour coming through to provide high summer offerings. The brand has collaborated with the Neverland Boys to create a great selection of imagery. "We were brought together on an island in the Indian ocean; we consider it to be our Neverland. Our island home blessed us with a lifestyle of eternal Summer, a seasonal escape from mainland reality. Surrounded by the sea, we lived everyday at the beach; permanently salty, eating fruit on the white sand, fishing for dinner in the clear blue sea and surfing until the sun sank beneath the horizon. The island offered us the freedom to be the healthiest, happiest and most fulfilled version of ourselves, it made us the Neverland Boys."
