Festival season, although predominantly about the music, we can all take some inspiration from the likes of Coachella and Glastonbury and use it as a great opportunity to show off our stylish skills. Unless you’re a first time festival goer you’ll know they aren’t the cleanest of environments - so you'll need to think practically as well as have an eye for trends. To give you a helping hand we’ve compiled a guide of what to be seen in and what not to be seen in during this festival season.

Shirt 

Unless it’s over 35 degree, which we know is a rare occurrence in the UK, you can get away with wearing a casual shirt. It's a good chance to wear it un-buttoned for a relaxed sunset look. One thing to take note of is if you’re wearing white, keep it stain and hole free for as long as possible.

Tees 

Whilst attending festivals in the past I couldn't help but notice that there are still some guys out there in low cut V-neck and graphic t-shirts - please bin them. Keep your t-shirts simple or with a subtle print; for festivals you can get away with colour but try to maintain a sense of style too. Compliment the colours in your outfit and let other accessories do the talking too.

Footwear  

Again, dependent on the weather you should pick your shoes wisely. You don't want to be ruining those suede desert boots in the wet mud, so if it’s raining leave them at home. You also don’t have to be in wellies either - if it does happen to downpour, wear rubber Converse or Palladium boots which can easily be cleaned afterwards and will stop your feet from getting wet throughout the day.

Hats 

Yes you could play it safe with your regular baseball cap, however this isn’t going to be a stand out accessory. Try and be a little more daring and wear a bucket hat. Not only will it protect you from the sun (and potential rain) but also will help you fit the bill in the musical vibes.

Accessories  

Firstly, don’t overdo it on the jewellery front, pick out a nice bracelet that says enough without being over the top - something leather with a small silver detail will remain neutral and likely to compliment your watch. So that’s another thing to remember, wear a decent watch - nothing too fancy that could get lost but in case your phone battery dies you’ll be able to keep track of time at least. Don’t forget those sunglasses too, and as much as we all love a Ray-Ban, don’t be afraid to wear something more daring.

Outwear 

This could be an essential item once the evening arrives and the temperature cools down. Why not opt for a vintage suede bomber whilst keeping the rest of your outfit fairly simple with black jeans and a white shirt - this will be a perfect stylish extra for interesting texture and essential warmth.
