We’re now three months into 2016, and many of us are still sticking to the post-New Year health kick. The gyms are still packed out, with shiny new sportswear lurking around every corner. And we’re still keeping on top of it too, but we’ve also turned our thoughts to the new spring season. We’re looking forward to crisp, sunny mornings, and walking home after work. With that being said, we’ve been keeping our eyes on the pulse regarding new products for the coming month. Following on from our February round-up, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite products and releases for the month of March.

Paulin Commuter A Watch

The new Commuter watch by Glasgow’s Paulin is built for the long haul. Powered by the unique Japanese Miyota movement, meaning the central hour and minute hands are driven separately to the second hand, this discreet, yet elegant design can run on the same battery for three years. Featuring a stripped back design; simple monotone face, brushed steel + PVD case and lugs, sapphire crystal glass face, and a premium leather hand-stitched strap, from the Clayton tannery. The Commuter A is the perfect example of modern design not always needing to be rushed, or released in a hurry - instead using time and effort to create something which is suitable for everyday use. Designed and assembled in Scotland.

Golden Bear Turlock Jacket 

Jackets are always on the cards, and when we spot one as handsome as the Turlock Jacket by Golden Bear, it’s hard not to want to add it to the growing collection. This bit of outerwear has everything you need from a spring jacket; water resistant shell, big front pockets, a two-way zipper, adjustable cuffs and comes in a regular fit, perfect for layering. Those features are all well and good, but when you hear that the Drizzler jacket (originally cut short and boxy, for comfort while riding a motor bike) was once worn by James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause, it instantly makes it about 20 times cooler.

Topo Designs Y-Pack 

The market is awash with below average backpacks, which unsurprisingly start to fall apart after light useable. Topo Designs has been making high quality bags and outdoor gear in Colorado for nearly a decade, and their love for adventure and functionality, it makes theirs some of the best on the market. This month they’ve added a new style to their roster, the Y-Pack. This flap-over style features a drawstring closure, internal and external pockets, comfortably fits a 15” laptop, and is constructed in durable Cordura fabric. Available in five signature colours.

Filmore Skincare 

New out of the blocks this month is Filmore Skincare. Fitting nicely into the premium male skincare market, this new two-piece range has been developed to work together perfectly, using a balanced list of ingredients with soothing, hydrating, and anti-inflammatory qualities. Within the F-1 Face Wash and F-2 Moisturiser you’ll find pomegranate, coconut, sweet almond, shea butter, sunflower seeds and citrus aurantium. Sounding more like one of our favourite post-workout smoothie for your face, the new range is accompanied by contemporary black and white packaging.

Mr Porter x Common Projects Achilles Sneakers 

Those guys at MR PORTER commemorated their 5th birthday recently with a shedload of cool collaborations, which formed a limited edition anniversary collection. Yep, there was a BMW involved, but our favourite item is their rework of the minimal Achilles sneakers by Common Projects. It’s a rework in the loosest sense of the work, but there’s only limited things you can change without ruining the winning formula. The gold serial stamp on the heel has been swapped for black numbers, and the interior gets an all-black makeover.

Gipsy Hill Hepcat IPA 

This month’s round-up wouldn’t be complete without some form of liquid. Many of us are still being disciplined with our New Year diets, so when you do get around to sharing a beer at the weekend, make sure it’s a worthy one. Hepcat IPA by Gipsy Hill Brewery taps the worthy note several times over. Their signature session ale is a fruity, easy to sink pale ale, with tropical flavours, and orangey in colour. Hepcat recently won Best in Show Session IPA at The Beer Awards 2016.
