LCM’s street style this season certainly seemed a lot more flamboyant than usual. There were lots of bright colours and sports luxe threads in comparison to the usual tailoring in neutral and earthy tones. Among the peacocking and the clearly commercially placed, we spotted a few great styles and trends.

A Touch of Punk 

Remember back in school when you’d iron patches by your favourite bands onto your Jansport bag? We spotted a few denim jackets and bomber jackets covered in patches and slogans, which gave a punk rock rebellion look. Whether being worn under a blazer or as the main focus, denim jackets in general were popular at this year’s LCM.

Stylish Photographers 

Usually the street style photographers are wearing the most normcore outfit you could ever think of. They’re on their feet all day and are carrying heavy camera equipment, so it’s usually sports trainers and a waterproof coat, but taking pictures of stylish gents as a career seems to be finally rubbing off on them.

Hats Off 

As usual for LCM, hats were seen sitting proud on a lot of guys (and girls) heads. From the Trilby and Fedora to the Bowler and Homburg, hats are here to stay. We caught up with MWS friend Martell Campbell who has taken to designing and wearing his own hats labelled D’lyle Treasure – check them out!

Sports Luxe 

Mixing up formalwear and sportswear to give an overall luxury and elegant style. This season however, this trend has become more understated and monochrome with shades of back, white and grey. It’s one of the most loved and practical trends to hit LCM.

Simply Done 

When you’re blinded by all the desperate peacocking and ridiculous and unflattering menswear threads, you start to doubt your love for the industry. Then you spot a few guys who are simply wearing well-fitted and properly matched classic garments and they look awesome!

Heritage Fabrics 

This is what we’re familiar with at LCM since it lends itself to true British Style. Although seen much less than in previous seasons, it was still there and looking dapper. Heritage wools and classic tweeds sitting proud on Savile Row tailoring is still great to see in the winter season.
