In winter 2014, boot brand Palladium and military outerwear manufacturer Alpha Industries launch a collaborative capsule inspired by a shared heritage in the military and in aviation. 

The Palladium x Alpha Industries collection includes six unisex boots in classic Palladium silhouettes and a slim fit reinterpretation of Alpha Industries’ iconic MA-1 flight jacket. 

The Palladium x Alpha Industries collaboration debuts in August 2014 at Palladium flagship stores, select specialty retailers and online at PalladiumBoots.co.uk and AlphaIndustries.com.

“Alpha Industries’ roots as an original military contractor, combined with Palladium’s own history as an aircraft tire manufacturer and as a supplier of the French Foreign Legion make this match-up truly authentic. We used Alpha’s original materials, our classic silhouettes and small design elements to capture our shared military heritage in a modern capsule for fashion-forward consumers.” said Hommy Diaz, global product line manager for Palladium. 

“This collaboration with Palladium was a natural fit for us,” explains Michael Cirker, CEO of Alpha Industries. “Our parallel history as military vendors lent to one another and I am very excited about the results from our work together.”

The Palladium x Alpha Industries collection utilizes Alpha Industries’ premium flight jacket nylon fabrication in two versions of the Pampa Hi boot and four variations of the fold-over Baggy silhouette, dubbed the Pampa Hi Zip MA-1 and Baggy Zip MA-1. 

Design details capture the spirit of an Alpha Industries flight jacket; a vibrant orange lining matches the traditional MA-1 lining color, while full-length lateral zippers and co-branded ribbon tags are reminiscent of the jacket’s zip closure and decorative accents. 

The boots also maintain signature Palladium style elements, including: a rubber toecap and one piece molded rubber outsole that lend to durability and a rugged aesthetic.

Designed to complement the corresponding line of boots, the collaborative Palladium x Alpha Industries MA-1 flight jacket features a unique color block design pattern. 

The jacket borrows all shades of nylon fabrication used in the boot capsule allowing the piece to match any pair of boots a consumer chooses to wear. 

The Palladium x Alpha Industries MA-1 jacket is updated in a slim fit silhouette and bears Palladium’s rubber patch logo on the right sleeve and a custom, co-branded neck label.
